The Antique Motorcycle Club of America

AMCA logoFounded in 1954, the Antique Motorcycle Club of America is an international organization with more than 10,000 members, primarily in North America. A reorganization of the AMCA in 2007 resulted in creation of and initial funding for the Antique Motorcycle Foundation.

An individual does not have to own an antique motorcycle to be a member of the AMCA. For more information about the AMCA, go to antiquemotorcycle.org and click the “Join Here” link at the top right of the page.

 

The Gerald A. Doering Foundation

Honda CBXThe Gerald A. Doering Foundation, incorporated in 2010, is a non-profit private foundation created to support motorcycling nationwide.

Founding directors Gerald A. Doering and Edward G. Doering intend this foundation to develop, further, and encourage history, safety, and tradition in connection with motorcycles, motorcycle development, motorcycle riding, repair, design, and fabrication, primarily through educational materials, events, programs, historic, and other exhibits, training courses, seminars, lectures, and gatherings.

The Doering Foundation also supports Motorcyclepedia, a not-for-profit museum. Located in Newburgh, New York, Motorcyclepedia showcases a collection of motorcycles from 1897 to the present. Motorcyclepedia is chartered by the state of New York and houses more than 500 motorcycles and thousands of related artifacts, documents, and memorabilia. The Antique Motorcycle Foundation displays its mascot bike, the Torque 4, as well as the Torque Twin at Motorcyclepedia.

The Motorcyclepedia museum features over 450 motorcycles along with photographs, posters, memorabilia, machinery, and other things related to motorcycles.

The museum has several exhibits including The Indian Timeline, Chopper City, The Circa Timeline, Fast from the Past, Harley-Davidsons, the Wall of Death, and the Antique Motorcycle Foundation's Gallery. The AMF gallery currently has the AMCA Winners' Circle exhibit on display.
